  • Free Basic Health Care for Living in DHA with a Pet
    • Free spay/neuter surgery for residents.
    • Free vaccinations at the time of the spay/neuter surgery. Or, if your pet is already spayed/neutered (thank you), we will gladly re-vaccinate. We never vaccinate pets who aren’t spayed/neutered.
    • Nail trims with the spay/neuter surgery
    • Free DHA Veterinarian Certificate signed by the doctor. You will need this form if you decide to put your pet on the DHA lease.
    • This service is for all residents in DHA.
    • Operational Partner: Spay Today.
    • To Get Started: Get a “Pet Packet” from your DHA service coordinator, your neighbor, or call us (303) 888-1833 and we’ll get one to you. You then schedule your appointment with our veterinary partner then bring your pet to the veterinary appointment.
  • If You Can’t Keep Your Pet . . . Our Shelter Partner Will Find a Home
    • We pick up your pet.
    • We bring your pet to our adoption partner who does behavior and medical exams and treats conditions.
    • Our adoption partner screens interested families.
    • We keep you updated all along.

  • If You Find a Stray Animal . . . Our Shelter Partner Will Find a Home
    • We pick up the pet.
    • We bring the pet to our adoption partner who treats medical conditions and spays/neuters.
    • Our adoption partner finds a family.
    • We keep you updated all along.

  • Community “Mouser” Cats
    • Our goal is to reduce the number of community cats and take good care of the remaining ones in a way that is agreeable to DHA.
    • Our trapping partner comes out and traps the cat(s).
    • Our veterinarian partner spays/neuters and vaccinates the cat.
    • Our trapping partner returns the truly feral cats. Hopefully there is a resident who loves animals and is willing to take ongoing care of the community cats.
    • We supply food and set up a feeding place that is agreeable to DHA.
    • Our partner returns the cat to your neighborhood.

  • Special Services for DHA Residents Who Help Neighborhood Animals and  Make DHA a Place Where Animals Are Safe and Healthy
    • This is for really, really old pets of DHA residents; already spayed/neutered; and; depends on how the pet came into the family.
    • Operational Partner: Dr. Perez of Downtown Animal Clinic.
    • To Get Started: This program is available only when special funding is available. We already have all the DHA residents and their pets.
